The hotel is sooo nice. It is different than standard hotels. It's located in an old family house built around 1870, that still belongs to the family. There are few rooms in it and the service is very friendly. Breakfast was very good, with a large variety of food, all of high quality. There is a coffee machine and kettle for making tea in the room. The room has high ceiling and nice decoration and it has a door that opens to a veranda overlooking the beautiful garden at the back of the hotel and it is possible to go down from it via a few stairs to the garden itself. Back in the garden there's also a restaurant, which is a nice bonus. The food in the restaurant is also special and of high quality and the setting in the garden that is nicely lit and decorated at night is an extra bonus. In addition, right across the street there's the Crystal Palace gardens, that are a very nice place to sit and relax, as well as have an amazing view of the river and the city.

Fabulous location close to the centre of Porto and nearly opposite to the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal - beautiful gardens especially at sunset. An easy walk to many places of interest and the lively centre area with many restaurants and shops. The Loft itself is somewhere a little different to stay with plenty of character and a lovely garden. Spotlessly clean, good shower, and the bed was especially comfortable and I slept very well. The room had a small fridge, LG tv with a good choice of channels or the option to log into Netflix. Wi-fi was good and reliable. Continental breakfast had a good range and was topped up during the morning. The staff were wonderful. Friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Good communication before my trip and arranged taxi transfers via the private driver which went seamlessly. Highly recommended and if I return to Porto again I know where I would want to stay.

Wonderful restoration of this property in an area worth exploring. There is an artisan quarter in the streets behind this hotel with cafes, bars, and shops in a neighbourhood experiencing gentrification. Nearby is a wonderful park, as well as another viewing point for the sunset. We found the location excellent for walking to and from the town, with bus stops nearby for going further, including airport links. We booked a room that opened into the garden, which was a highlight. Taking a coffee or even breakfast up to the small terrace space made the mornings another enjoyable part of our trip. Staff were very sweet and accommodating.

The hotel is really beautiful. The rooms are nicely furnished and show an individual style. The breakfast is delicious and has a great variety. Fresh fruits, great cake and tasty Portuguese specialties as well as cereals, bread, cheese, nuts etc. Highlight of the hotel is the stunning garden, where you can chill and which is beautifully illuminated at night. Employees of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful, they go beyond the usual to help you. The hotel is close to the Palace Cristal gardens and a 15 minutes walk to some of the cities highlights like Torre dos Clérigos and Livraria de Lello.

Nice small hotel in an old building. Large rooms with period features (including high ceilings and sloping floors!) Large, modern bathroom. Friendly, helpful and accomadating staff. Nice breakfast. I had to leave early on the last day and mentioned I would not be in for breakfast, and the owner insisted on leaving a plate for me to eat in my room before I left. Garden behind the hotel with a separately run bar and restaurant. Location was great for me - I was at an event at the stadium just across the road. Lots of good local cafes and restaurants nearby. Unique hotel and rooms, personalised service.
